I attended the Ovation Awards the other night and watched a bunch of friends walk away with hardware. It was a lot of fun and I've got a couple of pix from the party....
It was a great year for SoCal theatre as evidenced by this years Ovation Awards, presented by the LA Stage Alliance. It was a huge year with over 250 voters cast votes for over 450 shows and the awards were presented to those deemed the best of the best. There were 67 productions nominated for awards from 48 different producing theatres. It was a great party. Last year the bar was totally overpriced so this year I came prepared...a flask of brandy. Makes any award party move along quite well.
